For our international visitors, December to February are the summer months in Australia and we often experience hot, dry heat. In Wagga, maximum summer temperatures average between 29 and 32 degrees celsius. This is not to say that it won’t get hotter or a little colder than this, but to play it safe we suggest you pack for hot weather!
You can keep track of the weather forecast in the lead up to the event on the Visit Wagga website here
Let’s hope that it’s nice and warm for your day off on Wednesday 18 January!
Speaking of your day off, have you planned how you’re going to spend it yet? If not, here are some suggestions:
- Shop ‘til you drop in Wagga Wagga. The Sturt Mall and Wagga Wagga Marketplace, both located on Baylis Street, are home to major retailers, boutique stores and a range of cafes and restaurants.
- Take in a gallery or museum, such as the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery (where you can view the millinery exhibition in the E3 Gallery space), RAAF Wagga Heritage Centre or Museum of the Riverina.
- Enjoy Wagga’s beautiful open space, including Lake Albert, the Botanic Gardens, Wiradjuri Walking Track or head to the Wagga beach for a cool down.
- Get out of Wagga and visit one of the historical surrounding towns or villages. If there is enough interest, the Forum organisers will run a bus from Wagga to Junee to visit the award-winning Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. Contact the office on 02 6927 2866 to register your interest.
